Aspenwood is a personally designed luxury cottage. It is in a fantastic location with superb views across world famous Loch Ness.
This highland cottage offers accommodation throughout the year and, knowing that the majority of our guests would have travelled a distance, we make sure that upon arrival the cottage is ready for you to enjoy. You will find it cosy and warm, with beds made and our special 'Highland welcome tray' awaiting you. Modern laptop computer with wifi broadband free for guests to use to gain useful information and stay in touch with family and friends.
The owners, Lyn & Ray Cooper, were determined to create a ‘WOW’ factor upon entering the cottage and have endeavoured to furnish and equip the cottage to a 5 star standard. Their aim is to make your stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible with every comfort provided. They attend to the maintenance of the cottage and look forward to personally meeting every new guest upon arrival. Aspenwood offers a quiet and secluded haven and offers the perfect escape from the worries of the world with numerous peaceful walks just from the doorstep. Stroll through quiet forests and wander down from the cottage doorstep to sit by the nearby beach on the chairs provided and dip your toes in the cool water of Loch Ness and make a wish. There are not many places around Loch Ness that offer a beach such as this one to visitors.
Aspenwood is strictly a non-smoking cottage. Most of our guests book because of this very fact. They enjoy taking full advantage of the clean, crisp, fresh air found up here - this can be proven by looking at the lichen growing on the trees as it only thrives in totally unpolluted conditions.
In view of the woodland location of Aspenwood we do not allow the use of barbeques.. these would frighten the squirrels !

Although Aspenwood is situated in an unfenced and ungated environment one or two well behaved dogs are welcome but sorry - no puppies. There are wonderful walks from the doorstep for you and your pet to enjoy - whether it be walking along quiet forest tracks or strolling down the grass track from the cottage door to the secluded loch side beach. Here you can fish for brown trout, just have a paddle in the cool water or have a quiet sit on the chairs we have provided on the beach and enjoy the panoramic loch view with a picnic. The cottage is situated on the edge of the Farigaig Forest and you will be able to enjoy the various forest and loch side walks available from your doorstep. It is ideally situated for serious walkers and strollers alike.
