Welcome to Aspenwood, Loch Ness and the Scottish Highlands from the Owners

About Us

lncWelcome from Lyn & Ray Cooper - the proud owners of Aspenwood.

Our aim is to make your stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible with every comfort provided. We personally attend to the full maintenance of the cottage. Our priority is to ensure we keep the high standard we have set to make Aspenwood the luxury cottage for our guests to enjoy. We purchased the land the cottage now stands on in late 2001 and designed Aspenwood specifically with our future in mind - i.e. our retirement. Until that day arrives we would like all our guests to share in our little piece of heaven in the Highlands.

It took 6 months and we used a local firm in Inverness - Roy Homes. They were excellent. We were finally given the keys in June 2002 and we were then able to furnish & equip the cottage to a high standard. Having enjoyed many self catering holidays in the UK and Europe, we were determined that Aspenwood should surpass any holiday cottage we had stayed in - we feel that we have succeeded and we hope our guests do too.

A short pleasant stroll down a well maintained grassy track will take you right down to a secluded beach on the shores of Loch Ness - the most famous lake in the world. Loch is the Scottish word for lake and many of you, especially overseas visitors often refer to it Lake Ness, and even Loch Ness Lake ! but to be politically correct it is Loch Ness.

lncWe moved to the Loch Ness area in 1996 and live just below Aspenwood - in Lower Birchwood House - therefore should any of our guests require help or advice we are only a short walk away- or a mobile phone call.

We live with our 2 cats - Maisie and Daisy - our very own 'Loch Ness Monsters'.
