Cottage Diary - Aspenwood self catering luxury Holiday Cottage overlooking Loch Ness in the Highlands of Scotland.

A very frosty morning Tuesday with temperatures of minus 3 - so decided to do a crazy thing and go and feed the ducks at Dores beach with some left over Christmas fare. Wrapped up extremely well and drove to Dores village - about 7 miles from Aspenwood heading towards Inverness. Parked at The Dores Inn. The ducks were waiting for their breakfast and soon we had quite a few squabbling for food. They certainly didn't want to wait in a queue and became quite bold. There was a strange low streak of cloud hovering over the highest mountain making it quite mystical.
