A very important design factor of this luxury cottage was light - so we have endeavoured to make all rooms as light and bright as possible. The main rooms are positioned to gain full advantage of sunlight at all times. The kitchen/lounge/vestibule doors to the hallway are all glass panelled encouraging maximum light into each room.

Aspenwood has full double glazing throughout and oil fired central heating. The cottage is fully insulated making it warm and cosy throughout the winter months. Entrance to the kitchen/dining room can be gained from the front vestibule/hallway or through the rear door.

The kitchen with dining area has three large windows all overlooking Loch Ness. Whether standing at the sink, sitting at the breakfast bar or eating at the dining table, there are stunning views over loch Ness to the mountains opposite and down towards Urquhart Castle. Top of the range Neff equipment is installed - ceramic hob with extractor fan - built in electric fan oven and Miele integral dishwasher with sensor wash and a cutlery drawer at the top. Tablets provided. Top quality Panasonic microwave and spacious Miele fridge/freezer. Crockery and cutlery comprising of ten place settings are supplied along with everything one might possibly need in a truly luxury kitchen. A breakfast bar separates the kitchen/dining area with two stools and a radio/CD player . There are ten halogen ceiling down lights which can be controlled to achieve a brighter or soft light effect - depending on your mood.

Dining

Dining AreaThe two large windows in the dining area offer magnificent views across and down the loch. Across the water you can see the highest mountain peak - Meall Fuar-mhonaidh which is usually covered in snow during the winter months. On a clear day the reflection of the mountain in the loch is breathtaking. The dining area is furnished with chairs upholstered in Balmoral Stewart camel tartan around an extendable dining table making each meal so relaxing and enjoyable. Wall mounted 19 inch digital flat screen TV in the dining area.

Lounge

LoungeThe spacious lounge enjoys a nine foot wide picture window offering commanding views over Loch Ness from the comfort of your armchair. It is a very relaxing room with a wide variety of entertainment available for your use including the latest Panasonic 37 " flat screen TV with a DVD Player/Recorder and HDD Unit along with an extensive catalogued library of films. Relax and listen to the eclectic selection of music supplied with the CD player. There is an extensive library of books and magazines encompassing fiction, information, various aspects of Scotland as well as local literature, maps and detailed folders containing Walks and Places to Visit. Also there are various board games, playing cards, Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit along with other amusing games to keep the family entertained.

Bathroom

A large bathroom with electric shower over bath, wash basin, W.C. and storage cabinet complete the facilities available to all guests. This is in addition to the en-suite bathroom in the master bedroom.

Utilities

PC with broadband available at AspenwoodA computer with Broadband access to the Internet is available for guests to use -there is no charge for this facility. There is no telephone for use inside the cottage - most mobile phones will be able to get a signal in and around the cottage.

In order to keep noise to a minimum inside the cottage there is a separate utility/laundry room outside at the rear of the cottage which houses the washing machine, tumble dryer and boiler. It also offers the facility of drying clothes in wet weather and ample storage space. Outside rotary washing line and pegs are available.

In view of the woodland location of  Aspenwood we do not allow the use of barbeques.
